Greentrees Gourmet Preserves has been operating for 11 years now since january 1994. They started due to the faith the local Visitors Centre had in its products.

Greentrees began as a 2 guest room Bed and Breakfast - the first in the City of Orange area - some eight months earlier in May 1993. Centre staff visited Greentrees in June 1993 to see what was available to guests. When they sampled the Devonshire Tea with homemade jams, they asked then and there if Greentrees would consider making jams etc. for the Visitors Centre.

It was agreed and following appropriate government approvals, production commenced with the next fruit season in January 1994.

All products are made the old fashioned way, by hand - with fine quality local and regional fruits. The process is very labour intensive and time consuming. Over the years the product range has been extended to include approximately 17 varieties of jams, 7 maralades, 3 jellies, 8 condiments and 6 varieties of bottled fruit - peaches, pears, apricots, blackberries, cherries and plums.

Many people will remember the preserved fruit from Grandma's time. Beautiful ripe fruit is sealed in tall glass jars and placed in a special cooking unit for several hours at carefully controlled temperatures. The results are lovely to look at and deliceous to eat. It is also a great way to enjoy Nature's bounty out-of-season.

Greentrees Gormet Preserves has been a member of F.O.O.D. Inc. since January 1995. Products have been listed in F.O.O.D.'s Produce and Wine Guides. They are also at the annual F.O.O.D. Affair and at the Orange Farmers Markets on the second Saturday of each month.

I am very proud of my range of products and the pursuit of exellence they represent. It is very satisfying seeing guests, clients and visitors enjoy these carefully made products.
